"Dear old world, you are very lovely and I am glad to be alive in you."

-L.M. Montgomery

Our Story

We purchased our 1930's yellow brick cape cod home in 2017. " The Little Yellow House," as it is affectionately named, is situated on 3/4 of an acre in the lush Central Ohio Valley, just steps away from the ancient Great Octagon Mounds. The house is dwarfed by a craggy, old silver maple in the backyard that is known as "The Great Tree." Other than a few boxwood and Althea bushes, the land was virtually a blank slate when we arrived. Over the years we have surrounded the house with perennial beds, a large fishpond, veg garden, multiple bird/squirrel feeding areas, and wildflower installations in the front yard and most recently the back meadow. After raising an orphaned "Squirrel Girl" in 2024, we installed a raised "Squirrel Highway" to make her daily travels easier and have since welcomed many new daily visitors including red squirrels and chipmunks. We have been fortunate to have so many magical experiences in our little wild, suburban ecosystem, we wish the same for all of you!

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

-Margaret Mead
